Project Summary: MSI is recruiting a Project Manager for the Mexico PROJUST project. The Promoting Justice Project (PROJUST) financed by the USAID, supports the implementation and consolidation of a Mexican criminal justice system as part of their reform of the justice system, with the engagement of civil society. PROJUST efforts are concentrated on federal entities with a higher grade of advancement in the implementation of the reform.
Position Summary: The project manager is responsible for managing all contractual, financial and logistical aspects of the project. S/he will report to the Director of Operations or Senior Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all contractual matters for both prime and subcontracts.
- Manage project finances, approval requirements, track incoming costs, project future expenditures and preparation of financial reports.
- Provide home office support for overseas field office.
- Coordinate logistics for onboarding field project office employees and travel.
- Onboarding and travel logistics for short-term consultants.
- Editing of contract deliverables.
- Grants and subcontract management.
- Track and ensure on-time client deliverable requirements.
- Review field expense reports and backup documentation.
- Support the drafting and review of local short-term consultant agreements.
- Basic translation of documents.
- Assist in billing corrections.
- Support headquarters-based project recruitment efforts.
- Conduct Anti-Terrorist Verifications.
- File management and organization.
- Background research to support projects.
- Copy editing for donor reports.
- Support field office procurement file management.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
- Familiarity with FAR and USAID regulations and grants management strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- A sense of initiative
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize within a multi-tasking environment.
- A keen interest in project management and administration.
- Diplomatic communication skills particularly by email.
- Team focused approach.
- Fluency in Spanish and familiarity with the Latin America region and culture.
