Proposal Summary: **
MSI is recruiting for a proposal delivering Professional and Organizational Development services to USAID's Global Health Bureau. USAID's Bureau for Global Health provides worldwide leadership and technical expertise in areas including child survival, maternal health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, population and reproductive health services, health systems strengthening, health policy and environmental health. The contract will provide a variety of professional development activities for health sector staff world-wide that will focus on skills and competencies in health sector technical areas, management, leadership, personal and team effectiveness and staff performance management as well as organizational development activities, such as retreats and strategic meetings.
Position Summary:
MSI is looking for a Senior Professional Development Advisor to design, deliver and evaluate professional development activities both in the United States and internationally for the USAID Bureau for Global Health. The Senior Professional Development Advisor will report to the Project Director and work with GHPOD staff to manage, coordinate and deliver professional development trainings and events. This would be a full-time position based in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and advise in the design, delivery and evaluation of Professional Development activities.
- Work with the client to develop a culture of learning and Professional Development, reinforcing the client as a learning organization.
- Establish and institute standards for PD offerings and processes for quality assurance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in Professional Development trainings.
- Serve as a trainer, facilitator and coach for Professional Development events.
- Assist in outreach to USAID clients to generate enthusiasm and demand for Professional Development, and market Professional Development activities to the client.
- Develop a high-quality cadre of consultants to serve as trainers, facilitators, and coaches for GHPOD activities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Professional Development, Adult Education, Human Resource Management, Training and Development or a related field.
- At least eight years of related working experience, including at least three years in professional training, facilitation or curriculum design.
- Strong communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to work in diverse, cross-cultural settings. Experience working internationally or in the international development sector is preferred.
- Willingness to undertake periodic international travel is essential.
- Technical expertise in global health or with USAID is strongly preferred.
