Proposal Summary: **
The goal of the Up to Youth is to empower youth in Kosovo to promote their own development and become responsible citizens, thereby strengthening their resilience against radicalization to violence. The purpose of this activity is to empower at-risk youth in targeted municipalities to increase civic participation and economic self-empowerment for resilient, peaceful communities.
PositionSummary:
The Chief of Party is responsible for overall programmatic design and implementation and day-to-day management of the project. In close coordination with USAID/Kosovo, s/he will provide direction and oversight of the project, including supervision of project staff, ensuring suitable grant designs, ensuring that procedures are established for grant development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and grant closing. The candidate will be the main liaison between the project and USAID.
Qualifications:
- Advanced university degree (master's or higher) in international development, social sciences, peacebuilding and conflict management or other related field.
- Minimum of 10 years in related roles managing and implementing countering violent extremism (CVE) and youth programs. Balkans experience strongly preferred. Relevant subject matter expertise includes conflict mitigation, advocacy and/or strengthening of civil society.
- Previous experience managing USG donor led projects in Kosovo or the Balkans region. USAID experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse team.
- Demonstrated ability to work with government representatives, donors and other stakeholders.
- Complete fluency in written and oral English is an essential qualification.
- Experience working in politically sensitive environments.
