Project Summary: **
MSI supports USAID's Global Development Lab (the Lab) under the $15 million Science, Technology, Innovation and Partnership (STIP) Training and Capacity Building and Support Blanket Purchase Agreement. The Lab was established in 2014 to bring together a diverse set of actors to discover, test and scale breakthrough development solutions that have the power to transform international development. MSI provides USAID staff a basic foundation on how science, technology, innovation and partnerships can be applied to accelerate development progress worldwide and by integrating STIP into all aspects of their work.
Position Summary:
The STIP Project Manager provides administrative support to all Call Orders under the BPA. His/her responsibilities include high-level administrative tasks, training event preparation and support, and coordinating and updating activity calendars, trackers, and related online content. S/he may also assist in research on STIP topics, compile reports, assist with creating presentations and training materials, and organize and maintain project records. The project manager will be primarily dedicated to the STIP project. S/he will report to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and/or support DC and overseas training and capacity building events.
- Oversee event logistics at USAID, MSI, and other facilities, and manage international travel arrangements.
- Edit and format event materials, such as training participant manuals and facilitator guides, as well as technical documents, contract reports and deliverables.
- Manage procurement of training supplies and site venues.
- Support project financial management.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and travel logistics for short-term consultants.
- Support all contractual matters for both prime and subcontracts.
- Contribute as core STIP team member to project activities and tasks, as needed.
- Arrange and take notes at staff meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
- Experience with event planning.
- Ability to obtain a USAID site facility clearance.
- Ability to travel internationally 1-3 times a year.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Strong interest in training/facilitation/organizational development and/or in one or more areas of STIP (e.g., innovation) in international development a plus.
- Familiarity with FAR and USAID regulations strongly preferred.
