Proposal Summary:

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks training services to support USAID's Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Program and align global communications and outreach activities with U.S. Government development priorities. This contract provides strategic communications coordination and support across the Agency, with emphasis on managing and meeting the needs of the Agency's network of DOCs and other key Agency communicators in the field.

Position Summary:

The junior-level program support staff will provide day-to-day operational support to the DOC Program. The period of project performance is one year plus four option years.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day operational support.
  • Fulfill writing assignments.
  • Provide LPA DOC Team backstopping support.
  • Act as a first-line liaison with Mission-based personnel.
  • Collect, organize, and disseminate best practices examples from the USAID community.
  • Provide logistical support, particularly as it pertains to the scheduling (and negotiating of rates) of field training, regional consultations, and D.C.-based conferences/training.
  • Acquire all program materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the proper filing of documents.
  • Responsible for the administrative and clerical responsibilities of the project, including compliance with all U.S. Government policies including but not limited to contracting and travel policies.

Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience required.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in the field of strategic communications and/or event planning and/or public affairs.
  • A sound logistical and detail-oriented skill set.
  • Experience working internationally, with a preference for experience working with international training projects of similar size and scope to the DOC program.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to developing countries to conduct international training for up to 10 days at a time, and 3 to 5 times a year (current standard travel is 3 times per year).
  • Availability 3-4 times per week for in-person meetings at USAID headquarters (1300 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20523).
  • Work experience in strategic communications.
  • Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
