Project Summary: **
MSI has been implementing the Lebanese Community Resilience Initiative (LCRI) in the north and Beqaa regions of the country since 2014. LCRI is a rapid-response program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)'s Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI), working with civil society to develop and implement community based improvement initiatives. Its 32 member staff consists of the following teams:
- Grants
- Programs
- Procurement
- Communications/Reporting
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- IT
- Finance
- Security and Logistical Support
Position Summary:
LCRI seeks to hire a consultant to provide professional development, job search assistance, and counseling to all of its staff members. This is intended to build the capacity of internal staff to be better prepared for a future job search. As such, the consultant must be able to provide assistance and coaching to people at the various levels and functions.
Tasks:
Task 1: Training workshops
This phase will include two training workshops of approximately 4 hours each at the LCRI office: one for junior and mid-level staff, and another for senior level staff. Each workshop should be focused on the international development industry in Lebanon, the region, and worldwide, be tailored to the specific needs of each level, and cover topics such as:
- Effective job search techniques
- How to establish an effective job search strategy and maintain follow-through.
- Interviewing for success
- How to prepare before the interview, tips for a successful personal interview, and suggested follow-up steps after an interview. This session should also include common interview questions, how to answer each one effectively, and salary negotiation advice.
- Online job search techniques
- Due to the importance of the internet as a tool for a job search, the consultant should cover online job portals, how to leverage social media tools, and the most popular job search platforms in the region.
Task 2: Personalized Support
- The consultant will provide individual competency assessments for the staff to complete. Thereafter, the consultant will provide a one on one coaching session for each employee of approximately 1 hour at the LCRI office. This support will include:
- CV Review & Writing Recommendations
- Assessment and improvement of current versions of CVs, as well as tips for future improvement.
- Career coaching based on analysis of individual professional competency assessments
- This is will focus on career guidance and evaluation, especially for junior to mid-level staff, to help employees establish a long term career plan.
MSI Contributions:
MSI will be responsible for the venue, training and writing supplies, computers, and projectors.

This will be the final deliverable.
