Proposal Summary: **
The anticipated, five- year Obirodh—Road to Tolerance activity will: a) research and understand the drivers of violent extremism (VE) in Bangladesh, b) partner with local organizations to pilot countering VE activities, c) challenge the narratives of VE organizations, and d) continuously evaluate and learn in order to improve interventions. This project will be based in Dhaka.

Position Summary:
The CVE Advisor will provide technical input to overall program strategy from a CVE lens and design and implement a set of activities to target the project's objectives. S/he will report to the Chief of Party. This position will require travel within Bangladesh.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the COP to formulate program strategy and identify pilot activities and potential grantees. Provide CVE-specific advice to program staff and local partners.
- Build constructive relationships with local CVE prevention partners and act as the main point of contact with grantees .
- Provide regular political analysis and contribute to strategic discussions and rolling assessments with USAID.
- Assist the M&E Officer as needed in the development of M&E tools and approaches and ensure that continuous learning is incorporated in program planning.
- Undertake travel to remote and often high-risk areas to reach the most strategically targeted communities for information gathering and assessments when needed.
- Provide capacity building and/or training to supervisees as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in international affairs or other relevant field; a Master's degree in a relevant field is desired by not required.
- A minimum of five (5) years working on CVE programming and knowledge of its principles and methods.
- Experience working on CVE activities in Bangladesh.
- Demonstrated experience presenting ideas to stakeholders including donors and government officials.
- Fluency in written and oral English and Bengali.
