Project Summary: **
The Building Alliances for Local Advancement, Development and Investment Project (BALADI) aims to improve public service delivery at the local and regional levels, promote community participation in local governance decision-making, increase access to reliable and affordable public services, and support participatory and accountable local governance. The goal of BALADI is to achieve sustained and broad-based economic growth by engaging with municipal government institutions, Lebanese-registered civil society organizations, and private sector businesses. The BALADI CAP project is a five-year, USAID-funded project that complements and bolsters the activities of the BALADI project by providing organizational capacity-building assistance to local civil society organizations and municipalities.

Position Summary:
MSI is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Organizational Development Specialist on a capacity-building program for Lebanese civil society organizations (CSOs). The Organizational Development Specialist will work closely work with the Senior Organizational Specialist under the direction of the Chief of Party.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior organizational development specialist in conducting benchmark assessments/post benchmark assessments and producing appropriate action plans.
  • Perform regular field visits to CSO partners for on-site mentorship and coaching.
  • Assist the senior organizational development specialist in designing and conducting trainings /workshops to beneficiary CSOs on various organizational development topics.
  • Assist the senior organizational specialist in designing policies, procedures and guidelines on human resources and volunteer management, developing strategic plans, and designing organization structures and job descriptions for CSOs.
  • Assist senior organizational development specialist in tracking the implementation of the relevant policies.
  • Assist the senior organizational development specialist in liaising with potential local training institutes or short-term consultants to ensure capacity building is delivered on time and on budget.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the Chief of Party (COP).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, i.e. social science, business administration, public administration, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of previous job experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of Lebanese public administration and civil society organizational administrative and management systems is an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct site visits throughout the country, as may be needed.
  • Ability to work individually and collectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational, research, communications and reporting skills required.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English required.
