Project Summary:

The Africa regional portfolio includes the USAID Senegal Monitoring & Evaluation Project (MEP Senegal). This project provides USAID/Senegal with performance measurement and management support activities, including, but not limited to, monitoring and evaluation design, program evaluation design and implementation, impact evaluation design and implementation, sectoral assessments, surveys, activity/project design, target setting, and statement of work (SOW) development for evaluation activities This contract seeks to improve performance management at all levels to help the Mission meet Agency requirements, make better informed strategic and management decisions, and advance Agency learning.

Position Summary:

The Project Associate/Manager will directly support the management of all administrative, contractual, financial, and logistical aspects of one or more projects in the Africa region depending on portfolio needs.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide home office project management support on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the project team.
  • Coordinate contractual and financial matters for the project.
  • Manage project finances, approval requirements, track incoming costs, project future expenditures and preparation of financial reports.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of short-term technical consultants for evaluations.
  • Provide logistical support for expat travelers, in collaboration with the MSI home office travel team.
  • Coordinate logistics for onboarding field project office employees.
  • Participate in the formatting and editing of deliverables, ensuring USAID branding and high-quality visuals are incorporated.
  • Work closely with MSI project team including the Technical Director and Senior Project Manager on reviewing of contract deliverables including but not limited to evaluation reports, quarterly, and annual reports. Track and ensure on-time client deliverable requirements.
  • Provide support in the review of field expense reports and backup documentation.
  • Manage and organize project files, including coordinating with field office filing.
  • Support the team in development of procedures, policies, recordkeeping, and other duties, as required and related to overall operations of the project.
  • Other backstopping tasks for a large overseas project, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Project Associate: 1-2 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Project Manager: minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree required, with master's preferred.
  • Working proficiency in French required.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with FAR and USAID regulations strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to travel to Senegal for short periods preferred.
