International Project Accountant
Position Summary:
The Project Accountant is accountable for monitoring the progress of long term international field projects, investigating variances, training local staff, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.
**Please note: U.S. work authorization is required for this position
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain project accounts in the local accounting system (QuickBooks)
Train local accountant and review local project accountant entries
Upload monthly field expense reports from QuickBooks to Oracle
Reconcile project assets and accruals, investigate project variances
Create all project-related billings to clients (Oracle)
Work with clients and project operations staff regarding unpaid contract billings
Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers
Respond to requests for more detail from clients
Close out project accounts upon project completion
Create and submit government reports related to projects
Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
Establish and maintain accounting rules and procedures for field offices to ensure proper and smooth reporting process
Review field backups to ensure proper documentation.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or other related fields
3-5 years of experience in project accounting
In depth knowledge of government contracting
Must have excellent communication and writing skills
International experience preferred
