Grants Specialist,USAID/Indonesia Harmoni

Project Summary:

The four-year USAID-funded Harmoni activity will promote tolerance and inclusion and reduce the risk of violent extremism. Harmoni will focus support on interventions that are narrowly targeted towards communities and individuals most at risk of radicalization, with a mandate to build the resilience of key Indonesian institutions – governmental, civil society, religious, and community-based – that represent the frontline in preventing violent extremism in Indonesia.

This is a full-time, long-term position based in the Harmoni HQ in Jakarta.

This position is open to Indonesian nationals only.

Position Description:

The Grants Specialist position will be filled by an individual whose acquired knowledge and skills enable her/him to independently undertake diverse and complex work assignments (e.g. grant management, program activities, event planning, etc.). This role requires extensive coordination with other Harmoni team members to ensure successful performance of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Harmoni Grants Manager and program component team members on the development and administration of sub-grant awards to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and government entities.
  • Review grant reporting documentation submitted by sub-grantees.
  • Work to ensure sub-grantees' timely implementation of activities, in accordance with project schedules and sub-grant agreements.
  • Review cost-share expenses submitted by grantees, subcontractors, and program beneficiaries.
  • Draft letters, documents, and forms related to program activities and administrative matters.
  • Maintain sub-grant hard and soft copy files.
  • Review sub- grant documents in preparation for project close-out.
  • Assist in the procurement for in-kind grant assistance, including:

  • Drafting procurement documents

  • Preparing lists of potential bidders to be invited (in cooperation with component managers)

  • Assisting preparation of internal documents for approval by MSI home office and Harmoni

  • Set up appointments/meetings with government agencies.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Grants Manager or DCOP.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in relevant area.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in grants or project management, especially with international donor-funded activities.
  • Experience with USAID-funded projects and familiarity with USAID grants and procurements and their associated regulations, preferred.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a team, and to complete multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong initiative and teamwork skills.
  • Interest in the promotion of tolerance and inclusion.
