ProjectSummary:

The Increased Demand and Engagement for Accountability (IDEA) Activity aims to strengthen Sri Lanka's civil society sector, with an emphasis on working in all regions of Sri Lanka and supporting civil society organization (CSO) participation in national and local governance processes.

Position Summary:

The Administrative and Logistics Support position is based in Colombo and is not a staff position. He/she will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative needs of the Capacity Building team - IDEA Activity in Colombo. This is a short-term technical assistance position for a limited number of days - not exceeding 50 days in the next 4 months.

**Please note: Only Sri Lankan citizens are eligible for this position

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics, budgeting and processing of payments in support of capacity building activities in the Colombo office
  • Coordinate and communicate with consultants to arrange workshop logistics
  • Preparation of budgets in consultation with consultants and staff
  • In collaboration with the Finance Manager, review budgets of capacity building partners to insure cost containment policies are applied and costs are in line with market value
  • Provide procurement support
  • Support in data entry and translations
  • Collecting and collating resource materials

Qualifications:

  • Completed Advanced Level
  • Experience working as administrative assistant, secretary or technical support for a public organization, NGO or international organization with at least two (2) years of experience supporting senior staff.
  • Prior experience working with USAID-funded projects would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and one national language required; proficiency in a second national language desired; tri-lingual proficiency is preferred.
