Project Summary:

MSI is designing and implementing a pilot program to develop a model for holistic support to Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) survivors in northern Iraq, particularly Nineveh province with possible extension into other regions, in partnership with existing community structures. The project aims to strengthen the legal, health-related and psycho-social services for survivors of SGBV.

****Please note: Only Iraqi citizens are eligible for this position This position will be based in Erbil.

Position Summary:

The Operations Officer's main responsibility is to provide operational, including administrative, procurement and logistical, support to all program activities and staff. S/he reports directly to the Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Follow up with program and technical team on their needs and provide needed support
  • Follow up on Office needs such as stationery, supplies, services, etc.
  • Organize and arrange reception of expatriate staff including: airport pick up, badge print, visa requests, work permits and living quarter arrangements.
  • Provide departments and staff with the necessary documentation and forms.
  • Work and coordinate with legal department (lawyer) to Prepare visa and work permit documents for expatriate staff and follow up with Immigration Office to obtain visas and work permits.
  • Update senior management on new rules and regulations for Iraqi and Kurdistan Visa Law.
  • Liaise with officials at the Ministry of Iraq, Baghdad International Airport, and Erbil International Airport, to stay up-to-date on new procedures surrounding domestic and international travel and visa regulations.
  • Maintain healthy procurement files.
  • Follow up on log sheets for service contracted staff (daily work log sheets, transportations sheets, etc.)
  • Provide needed office supplies such as stationery, cleaning materials, maintenance, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned if needed.

Qualifications:

  • College degree is preferred.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in operations, security procedures are considered as an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of English language is mandatory, Kurdish and Arabic are strongly desired.
  • Ability to communicate and respond to a number of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify potential problems before they occur.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
  • Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
  • Computer skills, including internet navigation, and office applications.
