Project Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Support Project (MESP) provides USAID/South Sudan with flexible, demand-driven technical, analytic, advisory, training, monitoring, evaluation, and related support services for performance measurement, planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, activity mapping, and performance information management and dissemination activities. MESP’s primary areas of focus include I. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: baseline indicators and targets, data collection and analysis; II. Support for Evaluations, Assessments and Special Studies: performance impact and evaluation support, assessments and special studies; III. Strategic Communications; and IV. Program Management and Special Support.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of Communications Advisor, the Audio-Visual Content Developer will support MESP on a short-term technical assistance basis in establishing a creative and interactive communications platform. The Audio-Visual Content Developer is expected to be a creative designer for MESP’s communications products for both internal and external consumption. The work demands creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software, and a professional approach to time, costs, and adherence to deadlines.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and design themes for different program activities/events for offline and online use;
· Create layouts, artwork pages, and ready-for-print;
· Design and format important documents such as reports, briefs and one-pagers;
· Develop in-house publications such as success story and testimonial booklets;
· Develop customized infographics and other illustrations for data visualization of MESP’s published and digital products;
· Animate select infographics/illustrations and other data visualization products for social media;
· Using USAID’s branding and style guidelines, create print material templates and incorporate style guide in final videos;
· Travel to MESP’s project sites as and when necessary/required to take professional photographs and fulfill the requirements of the short-term technical assistance requirements;
· Provide technical oversight to printing task(s).
Essential Skills:
· Exquisite design sense and attention to detail.
· Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite specifically: Photoshop, In Design, Corel Draw, and Illustrator.
· For 2D and 3D animations, expertise in Animation Toonboom and Animation Maya.
· Proven understanding of typography, layout, color and grid structures.
· Expertise of working on In Page for preparing text.
· Knowledge of broadcasting production techniques.
· Experience visualizing and shooting concepts effectively.
· Experience in post-production and editing on advanced software for video editing.
· Language proficiency in English and one local/regional languages.
· 2D and 3D animations and motion graphics.
· Illustrations and sketch drawing.
· Photography with skills and experience of editing on advanced softwares.

Qualifications:
- At minimum a high school diploma, preferably a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication with focus on multimedia projects is desirable;
- 3-4 years of experience, preferably in an advertising-cum-production house;
- Experience in designing creative public-facing materials and digital campaigns including banners, microsites, emails;
- Proven expertise of gathering video-graphic content;
- Experience developing layouts of annual reports and other publications in In-Design;
- Good understanding of USAID’s branding and marking guidelines;
- Previous experience working on a USAID funded project(s) is desirable.
