Project Summary:**

This project will support the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) and Food for Peace (FFP) programs. OFDA and FFP implement programs and have management offices or warehouses around the MENA region.

This project will focus on establishing and undertaking independent third-party monitoring to increase OFDA, FFP, and partners' understanding of the outputs, progresses, challenges, successes and lessons learned of selected projects. It will support OFDA, FFP and their partners in effectively tracking assistance efforts, and to ensure aid is achieving its goals, the project will also solicit beneficiary feedback, improve the quality of partners' data and monitor warehousing practices.

Position Summary:

The IT Specialist will be stationed in Amman, Jordan. The IT Specialist is responsible for providing critical support to the configuration and rollout of all IT products used by the project, including CAPI survey software. The IT Specialist will work closely with Tetra Tech/MSI's home-office software developers and Data Analyst and Visualization Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Configuring project survey software, including installing or amending site visit forms on project platforms.
  • Maintaining the project database, office network, workstations, software applications and devices.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting workstations, networks, software applications, phones, copiers, and other technology.
  • Responsible for all project data archiving, including emails and program data as well as collected third party data.
  • Ensure users are training on the use of ICT equipment.
  • Deliver periodic reports as required by project management.
  • Train and support field staff on the use of project monitoring equipment and applications.
  • Advising on procurement of IT products.
  • Ensuring information security for the office and staff working outside the capital.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical fields.
  • Four years of experience in leading teams to develop data and information management systems.
  • Experience working with database development and information management.
  • Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written.
  • Ability to work across key sectors in the development of a database and information management system.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
