Project Summary:

USAID/Ukraine Energy Security through Competitive Energy Markets (ES-CEM) is USAID funded project operating country-wide with the mission to enhance Ukraines energy security, to improve the energy legal and regulatory environment and to increase resilience of energy supply, which will help Ukraine to achieve broad-based, resilient economic development to sustain countrys democracy. ES-CEM will work closely with the Government of Ukraine (GOU) and the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC) to correctly implement EU directives-based and competitive energy markets. By doing so, Ukraine will facilitate private sector-led energy investments, increase renewable energy generation and provide secure, reliable, and affordable energy for all Ukrainians.

Position Summary:

The project is seeking The Mid-Level Communications Officer (Social Media and Events). This is local, long term position, based in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Mid-Level Communications Officer (Social Media and Events), will provide project communications support.

Responsibilities:

  • Help to manage projects presence on social media and create content necessary to grow MSIs engagement within the sector, including content creation, basic online graphics and development of shareable products and content targeting multiple audiences.
  • Author brief social media postings with corresponding links and source appropriate images for the postings.
  • Schedule and post social media content as per the content calendar and obtain approvals for content prior to publishing.
  • Produce social media toolkits and contribute to the daily management of several accounts.
  • Provide analytics and identify trends through qualitative and quantitative findings on social media metrics
  • Review and organize weekly press mentions and produce media monitoring reports.
  • Monitor online conversations and join where appropriate.
  • Answer questions and guide conversations with online supporters using brand voice in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to writing content for various products including project profiles and one pagers.
  • Help to organize and staff key project/program events and provide support for external events in terms of collateral materials, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, or a related field

Five to seven years of relevant work experience.

Ability to work in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
