Proposal Summary: **
MSI is recruiting for a proposal delivering Professional and Organizational Development services to USAID's Global Health Bureau. USAID's Bureau for Global Health provides worldwide leadership and technical expertise in areas including child survival, maternal health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, population and reproductive health services, health systems strengthening, health policy and environmental health. The anticipated contract will provide a variety of professional development activities for health sector staff world-wide that will focus on skills and competencies in health sector technical areas, management, leadership, personal and team effectiveness and staff performance management as well as organizational development activities, such as retreats and strategic meetings.
MSI is seeking a Program Director to manage the technical implementation of this innovative capacity building program.
Position Summary:
The Program Director will provide leadership and technical direction to the project, overseeing project planning, implementation and management, and serving as key liaison to the USAID Bureau for Global Health for all matters pertaining to the contract. The Program Director will oversee organizational and professional development activities for USAID's Global Health Bureau and manage relationships with subcontractors and partners under a multi-year, multimillion dollar contract.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee implementation of program activities and provide technical and strategic leadership, overall managerial oversight, and administration of the project.
- Serve as primary project liaison to the USAID COR and be accountable for the achievement of program results by ensuring quality of services are maintained and that all project objectives and deliverables are met on time and on budget.
- Collaborate with partners, donor and stakeholder representatives to build and maintain productive relationships.
- Supervise a team of technical specialists.
- Serve as a process trainer and facilitator as needed.
- Ensure high-quality periodic reporting in line with the donor and MSI requirements.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Professional and/or Organizational Development, Management, Human Resources, Education, or related field as well as demonstrated skill as a process trainer and facilitator.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in professional and organizational development and personnel/performance management, as well as supervision of staff.
- Experience setting up management, administrative and financial systems and the ability to manage multiple complex tasks and requests is essential.
- Experience as team lead or Chief of Party of similarly sized efforts.
- Strong technical background in developing, integrating and mentoring large and diverse cross-cultural teams as well as setting up management and administrative systems in dynamic and challenging environments.
- Willingness to undertake periodic international travel is essential.
- Technical expertise in global health or with USAID is strongly preferred.
